I was tasked to make four finials for an antique four poster bed and match the stain on the bed. I have a shop made lathe duplicator that I have blogged about on Lumberjocks. The finials are made from African Mahogany and finished with General Finishes Rich Mahogany Wiping Stain and clear coated with lacquer from a spray can. This is the first time I have used spray lacquer and I’m well pleased with the results.

Here is the link to the duplicator blog.

Beautiful . I have had a lathe for about 2 years now and just starting to do a little turning, its for sure not as easy as using a metal lathe.
