Had nothing better to do today so up to the shed and 2 more boards… both orders. timbers are Meranti [pacific maple] and Camphor Laurel.
Actually went over to a mates place as well.. he was giving away a 14’ bandsaw and half a ute load of timber.. Silky Oak [ Ossie Lacewood] Camphor Laurel , Beefwood and some Sandalwood [ yes the stuff they grind up for incense]. All that for a Lazy Larry and a butcher block..good swap I think
The other day got 10 slabs of Rosewood [ not new Guinea Rosewood but genuine Rosewood] from a mate in exchange for a few bits and bobs. Seriously need a bigger shed.
Enough waffling.
The harder I work the luckier I get!

You are a lucky dog! I like your use of different woods!
Nice work, again Larry.

These are a couple of nice looking boards, Larry. The wood combination looks pretty good to me. It looks a lot like my favorite combo of maple and cherry. And nice score on the trading as well.

http://www.camphorlaurel.com/ Quite the article regarding the CL tree.
I found it while researching the woods in your beautiful boards , because I have never heard of Meranti being called “Pacific Maple” before and was only able to find it listed sometimes as Phillipine Mahogany instead .
The Pacific Maple that I did find was shown as being found in the USA only ..so far . LOL
