This is my quarter-sawn oak mantle clock. i spent little over 3 months building this at school. i stained it with water based american walnut stain to give it more of an antique look. i burned the face of the clock in by hand. and placed a piece of red glass in the open bottom space of the clock. i painted the pendulum black and then painted a white ou symbol on it. i used white so it would show up better through the red glass, but still come out red looking. when you look at the clock, all you see is the floating red ou symbol, not the pendulum. i gave the clock to my girlfriend as a gift, and also because my dad is a die-hard nebraska fan so he would have burned it the second i brought it home lol

Very nice, however, I think you have a typo, isn’t the O supposed to be an N? Sounds like your dad is the brains of the family. :) Just kidding!
