My first attempt at a live edge bowl ia now in the books. I am not sure on the wood though. I got this piece of wood from LJ Jim Jakosh. The black dot is a piece of ebony accenting an oops. Drilled the hole for my worm screw.

I had fun with the process. Learned a lot. Like learn to use my bowl gouges better. LOL Used thin CA glue on the bark to keep it in place. D o better job sanding too.

Way to go, Rick. That CA glue should help keep the bark on. I usually lose it!!

cheers, Jim

Had fun and learned a lot… that’s what matters most. Still a nice looking bowl. I haven’t tried doing a live edge yet but whenever I finally get around to it, I’m sure I’ll have fun and learn a lot as well. And I’ll be happy if mine comes out half as nice as this one.
