I made this bookcase for a friend. All the wood other than the luan for the back and the pine for the molding was recycled from an old set of shelves. I charged my friend $10 for the luan and she was delighted with it. You might note in the photo that the wood is a couple of different shades. That’s because the 5 middle shelves and the sides are from the old shelves. The top of the case and the bottom shelf are from left over good quality plywood, and the molding was newly bought pine. I had sanded most of the old stain off the old wood, so if you saw it in person it has an antiquey look to it.

One man’s trash is another’s treasure! ’;o)

Excelllent re-cycling. and yes a slight antique look too.
