One of my favorite customers asked me to build her a printer stand. She had several criteria for the build. The stand need a drawer 6” deep. A shelf that would hold a paper tray 10”x13”. The top of course had to hold her printer.
There was not much other furniture in the computer room, save for two book cases. She asked that I loosely match the shown book case.
The case it made from cherry ply with solid cherry trim. Pretty simple straight forward build. MY problem was the color match. I must have made 30 samples. I asked to drop by her office to compare my samples with the book case. Two or three were close to a match, but she chose one with a little more brown in it. It is still close to the existing piece and I am glad I had her choose, as I would not have picked the one she did.
I delivered it today and you would have thought it was made of pure gold the way she went on about it. She is ecstatic; I am ecstatic.
Thanks for looking.
