One of the main ideas with this table is not being effected by wind. It’s sitting on a covered deck, but there is nothing to stop the wind. It’s 98 inches long, 52 inches wide and 3 inches thick. it has 10 coats of urathane on it. With the base it’s about 300 lbs. Made of Beetle Kill Pine. Next up is the benches for it.

Thanks for reading and all comments and suggestions are welcome.

Nice looking table!!! 300 pounds, eh? Better tie it down… a Boeing 737 weights 150,000 pounds and it flies in the wind. Best of luck. 8-)

Beautiful table. The finish is very nice. If the wind ever moves that table, it would be a good time to consider moving yourself!

Monte, you really, really have come a long way and I know that your work will continue to be top-notch stunning examples of quality craftsmanship and artistry. Great job.

Great job on the table. I really like the design.

It looks strong enough to provide shelter in case of an earthquake, let alone wind.

Monte, that is a great build. The table is very nice but if there ever comes a big wind strong enough to blow it away it may nock a big hole in the house. Of course a wind that strong is probably going to damage the house anyway. As chuck said it might make a good shelter.

A good looking and solid piece of work that will stand up to the elements. I share Doc’s wonder that you got it where it is, but know it will be there for a long time. Nice work.
