Jewelry box with string inlay

My first challenge to a string inlay.
(please see my previous post of the inlay tools)
Since my blades are not sharp enough to make
the clean cut against the grain, the result of my challenge is
not comfortable. Next time shall be better I hope.

The string inlay isn’t really my thing but the box is GREAT ! Real nice job -

Looks pretty impressive for a first time.
I like the design with the separation between the drawers and the swing out storage.
The inlay looks good too.

I’m sure you see where every flaw is. I don’t. Just remember that as you do it, your skill will improve. I know people who will not try a thing for fear of not having a nice enough result. I recently took up wood carving, with two projects under my belt (one currently in work). I know I’ll get better, so I’m not worried about some of the details in the carvings. You can get away with a lot, if you are careful.

I love those drawers. The flat section into the chamfer looks great. Well done
