This is the last piece in the Pagoda series. It’s time to move on. I have a wacky idea for a piece of studio furniture in mind for my next big adventure.
Cherry case with gabon ebony inlay, feet and pulls. Three coats of homebrewed Maloof finish with a couple of coats of Butchers amber paste wax.
I wanted to try a few new things with this box. Mitered drawer fronts, an inlay of ebony and a more contemporary look to the feet were all new for this project.
The mitered drawer fronts were fun, the inlay on the lid is intended to tie in with a set of Stickley bedroom furniture and the feet are kind of funky.
By the way, I really don’t like working with cherry, give me genuine mahogany any day.
Cheers
And as always thanks for taking the time to look.

Very nicely done, as always. I still love the quilted maple wood the most. ~ Can you tell???
