This is a very large multi axis sculptural turning. It is 47 inches across and 4 inches thick. The sculpture is mounted in a steel suspended stand. “In the beginning God created man and earth” this is where the title comes from. It is my representation of God creating the universe. At one point the piece was mounted on the lathe at a 22 degree angle 12 inches off center to create the negative space and the turnings within the turning. This is create from a piece of big leaf maple. I know it is not your normal wood work but I am not normal. I think its fun to go outside the norm.

So, what’s normal? It’s a great looking piece that was obviously very challenging. Very nice work sir!
