After my wife put these lovely hooks in the wall itself, they lasted about 2 weeks before all 3 had pulled out and created gaping holes in the wall.
So while the intent was great, execution was not. So I built this coat rack out of some scrap curly maple and walnut. I ended up getting a router bit that cuts the french cleat right into the wood so it just slides over the screws in the wall directly.
Next is to finish patching the wall and getting that room painted.

Gorgeous coat rack !
I have a piece of “tap hole” Maple that I made into virtually the same shape years ago . I’m still trying to find an old wooden tap to stick into the hole to complete my project : ) I should snap a few pix of it to post here.
