Several of my friends have responded to the prototype described in this blog by going “wow that is nice- when do you make me one?)

Now, still being in a prototype state i can’t really make them a chair yet. Thought that perhaps i could use the base design (that is fairly done) to make something that looks nice, does not take as long to produce and makes for a nice gift.

The stool is made a bit narrow so that it fits in the entrance of an apartment without taking up too much space and yet is good for sitting on when putting on shoes etc.

Douglas fir
Pallet straps for seat
Water based hard floor warnish
48×33x43 cm

Had fun making it. Let me know what you think!

Super cool!
Nice design and fine work.
I really do love the pallet strap webbing, that’s a brilliant idea.

Thank you guys!

Mads: The straps works great and i Highly recomend trying it for a project!
Siavosh: Glad you like it. Looking forward to see your version
Jim: Yes i think the contrast works well. Did consider a version with dark wood and white seat but thought that it would look “bottom heavy”
