Space is a premium in my father’s garage. I built this as a gift to (1)provide more storage, (2) create a larger and more stable router table, and (3) provide more support and a greater rip capacity for the table saw.

The router fence can be turned around and (if carefully measured) used as a fence for the table saw.

Storage underneath consists of two trays with full-extension drawer slides for a couple of bench top tools (scroll-saw, belt/disc sander, and a few circular saws). Storage underneath and around the router assembly provide space for a number of “go-to” easy access items, portable router bases, and all the tools for the router table.

The whole unit rests on a stress-skin panel and four 4” double locking casters.

Doors are cedar with a 3/8” ply panel, finished with Odie’s oil – buffed on with a $15 hand-buffer from Harbor-Freight.

I really like the space saving design. Doing double duty really saves space and the added storage is going to be a welcome addition to the shop. And locking casters too!

Well done.
