I made this wooden football out of a standard 8-foot 2×4. I edge-glued sections of the 2×4 together to make 7” wide boards, then I cut different size circles and glued them in a stack to make the blank. I crossed the joint lines at 90 degrees. I used short dowels to keep them all centered. I stained it with MinWax Early American and sprayed it with lacquer. The seams are just small pieces of wood that are glued on. I also had enough 2×4 leftover to make the display stand.
Click here if you would like to watch my video. (It’s full of terrible puns.)
Thanks for checking out my wood football. Go Falcons!
