That’s a gorgeous box. A fitting resting place for a beloved pet.

This is a really nice box, Skeezics. The bloodwood accents in addition to the spalting give the box some nice visual interest. I like the design as well.
-- With God's help all things are possible- even woodworking. Woodworking is not just a hobby, it is an (expletive deleted) expensive hobby.

This is a lovely box. Do you do anything special for the lining?

nothing in the lining but a piece of felt in the bottom. the new owner is going to place a marble urn in the box. guess he likes wood better than marble. :-]

Like something the ancient Egyptians would put a cat in. Great box, exemplary timbers with a very cool lift knob.
Goodbye, Kitty.

We pick up our cats ashes this week so I might have to build him one of these. At least I have to make him some kind of box.
Tried burying him, we had him frozen in our unattached garage all winter but the new house has a yard full of two inch thick roots, clay, and rocks.
I like your design. Good mix of grains and colors. Plus the handle looks like a little abstract bird to me.
