Well, I build a simple one of white ash and it works good for me.
Added a small screw to the front so can calibrate it to the thickness of the table saw blade. Better.
Also added two magnets to one of the sides. Now I can “glue” it to the table saw table. Best.

Less is not always more, but can often be more than enough.
