This is a sample of the unique serving trays I make using the lid from a wood wine box and barrel staves for the sides of the tray. The ends of the staves are mitered to form a frame. The frame has a groove to accept the wood lid which is cut to fit inside the frame. Handles are made from pieces of the wine barrel hoop. The style depends on what wine boxes I can hunt down, they are becoming more difficult to find.

Thank you for the comment. I find that the finishing is the most tedious work. In the winter I have issues because my shop is not heated full time and the temperature changes cause me a lot of problems. I use outdoor polyurethane for all my projects.
Thanks again for the comment.

Todd,
Nice work and good idea reusring wine barrels and boxes. Is that your website in the background? I tried to google it but was unable. I’m planning to make a goblet do you think outdoor polyurethane can hold up to the stress of wine?
