This is where I started and got hooked on working with barrel staves.
Long Barrel Stave Votive Holder – I have sold them for $30
These votive holders are crafted from recycled Napa and Sonoma Country wine barrels. The barrel stave holds five votive candles or tea lights. The long staves measure approximately 37 in. long and vary from 2 1/2 to 4 in. wide. You can request a specific width if you prefer. Wider staves do cost more for shipping. The stave has three coats of polyurethane gloss finish. Satin finish or unfinished models are available. The stave comes with five tea lights. Votive holders are also available. Shipping charges are typically $15 via priority mail.
Medium Barrel Stave Votive Holder – I have sold them for $25
These votive holders are crafted from recycled Napa and Sonoma County wine barrels. The barrel stave holds five votive candles or tea lights. The long staves measure approximately 25 in. long and approximately 2 1/2 in. wide, but width varies slightly. Custom lengths can be ordered. The stave has three coats of polyurethane gloss finish. Satin finish or unfinished models are available. The stave comes with five tea lights. Shipping charges are typically $12 via priority mail.
Short Barrel Stave Votive Holder – This is something I just made and I have not sold any of these.
You can see in the photos how the curve of the stave varies from barrel to barrel. You can also see how the width of the staves vary and dictate how long the votive holder can be and yet remain stable.
All the votives are shown with tea lights only and do not show the variety of glass votive holders that can be inserted into the stave.
