Hadn’t posted here in quite a while. But since I took a veneering/marquetry class a few years ago, I thought I would post this since I finally put the learning to use. I run in a circle of folks that collect old antique fishing tackle (that I can’t afford) and sometimes they like to put their favorite treasured plugs/tackle in a nice home.

Dovetailed black walnut boxes with veneered tops of various domestic and exotic wood species. Trays of hard maple or black walnut with matching self-created hand-cut banding. Brass hardware and leather handle. Three coats of Danish Oil and then, wax.

Very nice. I hope to be able to build something this intricate in the future.

That is one fancy tackle box and you did a fine job on it. I assume that it’s just going to be used to store some of your tackle at home. It would be ashamed for that beautiful box to get wet. It’s beautiful and nicely done.
