This Hollow Form was turned from white Ash. After turning, the piece was dyed with black, yellow and red transparent dyes and finished with 4 coats of lacquer. When the finish was completely dried, it was buffed and waxed . I applied the dyes using LJ Trifern’s method with the exception of adding couple of layers of Dewaxed Shellac before the lacquer application. The cap is threaded on to the base for safe keeping of the content. The threads are made from brass and can be removed from and put on the base with ease for as many times as desired without damaging the threads.
Approximate Dimensions:
6 in. high x 4 1/2 in. largest diameter x 2 3/8 in. diameter at the top x 2 1/4 in. diameter at the base.
Internal volume : Approximately 40 cubic inches

This is awesome, what a fabulous finish.
Congratulations and thank you for sharing.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.
