I’ve been spending most of my time fixing up the shop… Haven’t done much turning.
This is a kit from Craft Supplies, it’s their “woodworker’s pencil”.
It’s Chokecherry Burl, and it’s a beefy writing implement!

Beefy indeed, I love beefy writing instruments, makes you feel what you’re holding as opposed to those skinny ones that you can forget you’re holding (wha? ... where did that thing go?...)
nice work!
what diameter is the grpahite ? are these standard sizes and can be picked up at local office supply store? or special sizes that bind you to the woodworking store you got the kit from?

Outstanding. I write primarily with penciles, and these oversized pencil kits have quickly become my favorites. You did a great job!
