First segmented ribbon attempt ended up as the keeper of the golden orb (see last post). On this the second attempt I wasn’t able to get a good join up so it ended up as this creation. The sphere is red gum and is loose sitting on the red gum base. The piercing also hides a few errors. The flash went off with pic 5.
These are fun now that I have the angles for the stave segments right and have 3 successful ribbons glued up and will post when I have finished off the sanding etc.

What next Bob!!!.
You never cease to amaze me with all the different things you make.
Congratulations and thanks for sharing.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

By Gee Bob, you are on fire!!!!!! I was just about to close down for the evening and I saw your latest project…..another well thought out and very clever piece.

The Red Gum Sphere and Red Gum Base work well and although they sit in the background, they do their job well by drawing the viewers eyes to the Segmented Ribbon which in itself would be relaxing to look at and just ponder on the Roller Coaster Imagery it conveys. The Piercings work well too giving more insight looking through to other spreads of the ribbon.

Well done.

This is a real cool piece Mate with a bit of thought going into the Make.

Great work, takes a lot of time and patience to make a ribbon.
