spalted maple box

here is another box with a liftoff lid, this box is made from spalted birch 1/4” thick, the pull on lid is bolivian rosewood & feet is zebrawood, the liner inside is red oak with a spalted maple divider , the side profile was done using a router bit called a drawline bit, the box measures 12 5/8” X 6 5/8” X 5 1/2” high ,i used shellac to finish & I also used minwax 5-6 coats, i used box joints for the corners.

Boxes are a great projects for special pieces of wood. Very nice. Of course, I’m a sucker for boxes.
