I wanted to make my Grandson something special for his second birthday. I think this turned out a lot better than I expected. Started with a template pattern, put it together, got out the 4.5” angle grinder, and started carving. Hand painted with leather “hair plugs, and a rope and leather tail.

I am now officially jealous. Great idea and I am sure the grandson is riding high.

Thank you all so much for the I said I took the basic pattern templates. ..put them together. ..stood back, then started carving I used my palm router for some of it and I made the eyes from a wood egg that I cut in half on the bandsaw then carved the eyelids. Lot of work but it was worth it to see him climb on and go Weeeeeeeeee!

My next rocker will be a Indian Pinto Pony with a University of Michigan . For my Michigan grandson who lives in Alabama.
