On this project I glued a thin piece of walnut veneer between cherry. I then tilted the glue up on my faceplate to make the angle. It makes an ellipse in the bottom of the bowl. I am sorry for the quality of these pictures.

Good piece bit thick for my liking also try to make your desings to flow a bit more so they dont look base heavy otherwise is fine ,remember go for it ,if it break well there will be others, good gluing up too, well done
like I alwas say turn ,turn and the hell with the rest,ed

I agree about the base being heavy. If I turned more I would be better. Sometimes I just stop short.

Hmmm never thought of tilting the wood like that. Like the shape and colors of the woods. Very nice!
