This is the first piece of furniture or any woodworking project i’ve ever done (except trying to put up crown molding). The pictures also show my “workbench” which is an old plastic table 2ft x 2ft. I used some creative clamping to hold the wood steady, and even made my first jig to drill holes for dowels. I think it turned out alright. Also, am great-full for all of the information out there on scrapers because although I don’t have much experience, they are my favorite tools.
Made of: maple and mahogany top; poplar bottom; finished with “high performance” general finish brand and some paste wax I borrowed

Great project…it always nice to get one finished. Good working with the tools you have.

I once burned through and entire 10ft length in 1/16th inch increments and my dictionary of expletives trying to get a crown molding corner to work in my daughter’s bedroom:-)

Nice project! Just shows that you don’t have to have a shop full of the latest and greatest tools to accomplish something. I’ll bet there aren’t many of us who have carpeting in our shops, either ;-)

Great job for a first project and what looks like a limited set of tools. I’m looking forward to your future posts!
