Another Lois Ventura design.
This one is in New Guinea Rosewood showing some sapwood. I bought the timber very cheao because of the sapwood..local cabinet makers don’t like sapwood..i personally think it adds character. Drawers are lined in blue ‘flocking’
Enjoy with much more to follow

You’re right….the sapwood really adds to the piece. Wonderful work.

This is another nice box. I totally agree with you and Charlie about sapwood adding character to a piece. Cherry is my favorite wood and I use pieces with sapwood to add visual interest to the piece. The rosewood is gorgeous.

Thanks for the post.

Gidday Tony
I have long admired your work from afar.
i ventured into bandsaw boxes after reading Lois’s book and have use her designs as an educational exercise.
Yes I intend to design my own interpretation of the bandsaw box. I have actually made a small heart shaped box for a friend.
Thanks for you kind comments
regards Larry
