So pretty. I really love it. I’m very new to turning, and have only a tiny lathe so far, so I’m wondering about the original glue-up blank. Did you start with roughly cylindrical stock? Was the mahogany bit smaller to begin with, or were they both about the same, and you turned a lot of the mahogany away? Thanks for sharing.

Eduardo-

You’ve got a good eye for form, and access to some great woods. I love the simplicity of your shop.

Well thanks for the comments, first photo=I really take pict as they are ,no fancy set up because the piece is as you see it ,too many times they look like a million bucks ,and in true life they are nothing like the pic,
the mahogany neck is a bunch of cut offs fron a friend ,craft shop, they never use those for anything( my gain)I start with a 5×5 of catahua that also was given to me by the same shop, they never use spalted wood, also my gain, make the vase, the part of the neck had terrible worm holes so y return that part and put the neck on the top, made many that way,you can see some examples in my web,
for toyguy= just get your self some buckeye is almost the same thing
thanks steve,my shop is used by me 12 hours a day more or less not hobby turning,if Im not here at the pc Im there turning away ,or making visits to metal turner to try few thing I see here ,got to make me a steady rest, lol

Have your say...
