Had to build a step stool for my youngest son to use around the house. Poor guy was blessed with his mom’s short stature so he needed a little help to reach things. He probably uses it more as a chair though.
Built the whole thing from one 1” X 10” X 6’ pine board I picked up at the orange store from the cull lumber bin for about $3.50. The board had a crack running down the middle so I had to rip out about a 3/4” section the whole length of the board. It was an easy project yet challenging due to the cracked board and having to glue-up the legs and the step. Pocket hole joinery, mortise and tenon for the handle, and a generous coating of red rattle can. Plans for it came from Woodworking For Mere Mortals, I just had to modify the size a little to get it all out of the one board.
