So this is the first commissionned work for me. Though, I must admit that it was by my mother in law for my father in law’s b-day. And it is to replace a foldable Tv stand that he uses as his laptop table. Paul is lefty and kinda rough. Walnut. Handcut mortaises and tenons.
Went into it blind, no drawing nor thought. Bought a walnut, board made the frame and tablet. Bought another board for the top.
Am almost proud….and what bothers me i know how to fix (undercutting). Also sharpening a chisel is both difficult and necessary. Applied two coats of watco natural danish oil. Am getting less messy and wished i had been shown the straw glue pick up trick before my assembly.

You really did good on that. Your own design you say, fabulous, love the pull out side. Great wood, looks very nice. You’re off to a good start.
