this is #6 of my high country mustang series. the last one of this series.

enjoy. it is done on a cabinet door. colored with chalk, acrylics and oil pastels and colored pencils

thanks dennis. next is a series of heavy horses. draft horse. but first ihave a commisson dog portait to do.

but the draft horses will be sort of different. going to do the heads only. and one large one with several different breeds on it. am working on the sketchs now. thanks for asking. after the draft horses am thinking of ponies of hte world. and then riding horse breeds. as you can see i have horses on the brain. lol

I know what you mean Pat. Horses are such a beautiful & majestic animal. you never get tired of looking at them.

thanks dick. horses have been in my life forever. first rode alone at 2 yrs old.i have ridden the smokey mts. the hills of penn. and ohio. and i used to run the contest circuit. i miss my horse terribley. my contest horse died at 28 yrs old. i sold my last one when husband had his stroke. i miss the rides and my horse. but to be honest i dont miss the work. lol.

Beautiful Pat. I can’t wait to see the draft horses. My uncle raises Belgiums, if thats the spelling. My Gramp had one left from his farming days I remember,as a kid, an old blind Percheon. But your Mustangs sure are full of life. Love the textures. Check out Dick Cains draft horse, absolutely beautiful. Mike

thanks mike, and i did check out his draft horse. i love it. so beautiful.

i have to finish this commission dog portait before i can do the horses. but my uncle farmed allhis life and never had a tractor, used draft horses . i remember the mules my dad used when i was little. thoght they were really big. till i came across a photo a while back. lol. my dad was only 5’2 in tall. and those mules were no where near as big as i thought. lol.
