It took forever but finally….walnut bathroom. Only used hand tools. Learned a whole lot about dimensioning hardwood. Specifically, that sticker “shadow” can go DEEP into the wood, which was a shame because the rough lumber wasn’t cheap and took a lot of elbow grease to get past the stains. My wife and I saw the original design in a high end Toronto bathware store and I figured I could copy it except that instead of veneered particle board, I’d get all fancy and use solid wood. The sink top is from IKEA and was dirt cheap but it wasn’t easy to pick one that didn’t have significant warping. The mirror doors are MDF (which I was surprised to find can be grooved pretty effectively with a Stanley 45) and the back of the medicine chest is veneered plywood. The vanity top and cabinet rest independently on a pair of heavy brackets (to allow for wood movement)

Awsome modern design. I like this contrast between dark wallnut and white tiles.
