This was a plan from Klocket They no longer sell it because they couldn’t get the bezels for the clock any longer. Too bad, this was a fun attractive project with a lot of potential. I ended up giving it to my buddy who’d forgotten that his 40th anniversary was that day and there was an anniversary party in two hours!
When the dust settled, all was well in Herald…

Nice clock, jack. I’m growing fonder of Arts and Crafts style pieces every day. Is it oak? What kind of finish was applied?

I like your clock but you should consider moving up to “real” clocks with key wound movements. They are much more traditional and interesting than quartz/battery movements. A great retail source is Merritts Antiques. They sell all kinds of clock parts. I admit I’m a bit prejudice about clocks and I know some people actually prefer battery clocks because they don’t have to wind them every week but key wound movements just seem more authentic and “alive” to me. Building a case for them can also be a bit more challenging.

The wood used in the project was cherry with a little walnut for the pegs used on the top and sides for jointing. I have been toying with a “real” clock. I just have to wrap my head around the hundreds/thousand + dollars to buy the movement… I do however have a couple in mind. Some are from Klocket and some are from the Schlebaugh Company, another good source.

Very nice, you can’t see the movement, so who cares.

I think it’s all about the cabinet.
