This is the matching Bedframe that goes with my son’s bedroom furniture in his first apartment. I posted the nightstand and dresser here: http://lumberjocks.com/projects/145322
The frame is solid cherry from some beautiful figured boards I found. The headboard is cherry with veneered panels that I vacuum pressed with curly cherry veneer on 1/2” mdf. Did a book match between the two panels. The panels were then trimmed out with some figured Claro walnut edging to match the tops of the nightstand and dresser.
Just did a simple oil finish using the Maloof poly/oil finish. Three coats then a final coat of poly/wax. Rubbed the whole thing out with synthetic pads, then used steel wool to apply top coat of paste wax. Final buffing and makes a perfect finish for cherry.
