Toy storage unit. Made of African Mahogany (solid and ply). Drawer box is maple and is attached with heavy-duty blum 569F soft-close drawer slides.

The sides are frame and panel.

Finished with dewaxed shellac and a few coats of General Finishes wipe-on poly.

Thanks for looking!

Nice work on your cabinet Andrew! I’ve used those blum 569F soft-close drawer slides on our kitchen drawers and they are an excellent choice for making drawers work smoothly.
I like the seat idea also! Nice design!

Excellent design and work. My wife is asking for this in both kids rooms. I guess I know what I need to get started on now.

Can you let me know exactly what you used to finish it? Color? Looks great.

Thanks for the nice comments.

Brian, finish was with Zinsser sealcoat, 2 coats. I thinned it about 50%, making it approximately a 1 lb cut. I did 2 coats that way. Let that dry a couple hours, then 4 coats (one per day) of General Finishes Arm-R-Seal wipe-on poly semi-gloss.

Did all finishing with a cotton rag.
