I made the mirror frame a couple of years ago with my hanging system. The table I made a few months ago.
They both are red oak with Minwax Early American Stain.
I put the same detail in the legs of the table that I did in the mirror frame. This makes it a set or not!
Basically the cleat on the wall recesses into the back of the mirror. There are two mortice’s in the back of the top rail that have holes drilled through to the recess. Two holes in the top of the cleat correspond with the holes in the top of the frame. If you want to move the mirror just level the cleat and fasten it to the wall. Then drop two wooden dowels in and walk away.
I never liked seeing pictures or mirrors on a wire hanging away from the wall at the top and tight at the bottom. This solves that problem. If you center and level the cleat where you want it hung you can’t make a mistake.

Excellent set. Your hanging system is pretty nifty, too. (As long as you’re not married to somebody who changes her mind a lot.) :-)

A very nice set. You just reminded me that I’ve seen a method where you cut out the drawer fronts and the rails and stiles from the same piece of wood so the grain is continuous in the finished product. Basically, you take a board that’s a little longer and wider than you need for the front apron, rip off the rails from the top and bottom of the board, then cross cut the stiles and drawer fronts respectively across the middle piece. If kept in proper orientation and fastened back together, the grain flows beautifully.
