I have searched a few times for Bamboo pen blanks and have only located one company selling them. Much to my surprise they sell them at Wal-Mart! Well not really but while walking through there yesterday on my way to the tool section I noticed that they carry Bamboo cutting boards. So I bought one for $10 bucks, went home and cut it up to make me some blanks. Surprisingly they come out pretty neat. I used E. Indian Rosewood to make the rings on the first one. Hope you like!

The design is referred to as a “Celtic Knot”. I searched the web and came across a few different ways of doing it and just tried on some scraps until I was happy with it. If you follow this link:
http://content.penturners.org/articles/2007/celticknot.pdf there is one tutorial on it.
Once you feel comfortable with the knot you can get really creative like this guy:

This is my next experiment if I can get the blanks to glue up well enough to the coke cans!
