Mafe’s clay tools
spatulas from hack saw blades

Hmmmm once again a project that pass borders, this is tools for clay, blades from hack saw but some handles of wood.

Some of you know that I also work with clay, this is kind of a sharpening method for me.
Clay croquis are a really intense way of sharpening your; eye – brain – hand interaction.
To try and make an interpretation of what you see and stay out of the perfectionist trap.

You can read more in the blog: http://lumberjocks.com/mafe/blog/56514

Pictures:
1. The tools.
2. Hack saw blades transformed.
3. Spin, spin, spin, I do love the lathe.
4. Handles for reference point cutters.
5. Making handles from string.
6. Here a clay croquis figure I made.

Hope this can inspire others to make their own tools,

Best thoughts,

MaFe

Hello Mafe

Very nice collection

What type of protection did you use to prevent oxydation of your tools ? Paraffine or other idea ?

Thanks for sharing

Hi there,
Grizz, thank you for the compliment on the tools. This is just the inside of my croquis tool box, to me they are really not offensive or even sexual, they portray the human body and are used for inspiration when we do croquis, we work after a live nude model (male and female), there are really nothing offensive or even sexual in that. Hmmmm, perhaps the limits are different in US or as an artist I got a different view on nudity, after all I live in the country famous for liberating porn… Smiles. Sorry if I offended you though.
Wayne, smiles.
farmerdude, thank you so much, yes the lathe opens new doors.
Diggerjacks, I actually don’t do anything on the clay tools, when I make tools I always finish up with Camellia oil (tool type). On the clay tools the little rust that comes are fast gone in use.

Madts you were faster than me to comment, so perhaps there are different views on this…

Nice set of tools. They are especially appreciated because you made them your self.

Cheers, Jim

Is there anything you can’t do/make?

They are beautyful. Also the clay croquis.

Yet another of your talents shines. Very nice looking tools, it is great to make your own stuff as that way you get the thrill of working with it and it can be made to fit your hand.
Thanks for sharing.

and besides it doesnt matter that you like the nudes, we have rules on this web site and it includes pictures like what are here, its breaking the rules that we all said we would follow, children look at these posts and there suppose to be clean and good enough for them to look at…...

Big smile here, guess the happy seventies made no impact after all, there are a long way back to Eva and Adam, they were not ashamed of who they were.
I was not aware of those rules, will try to find them and be a good boy in the future.
No reason to argue guys, keep a smile and a happy tone, I don’t mind, only sad that something I posted out of the wish to share my joy can become a issue here.
I made 250 posts and 270 blogs with out making that mistake before, so I hope I can be forgiven. ;-)

UPDATE:
Now problem is solved, the nudity has been blurred away and tools can still be seen.
