This hefty board is 16.5” x 12” x 2.75” and tips the scales at 12 lbs 6 oz. It is made from hickory, cherry, walnut, Peruvian walnut and white oak. The leveling was done with a belt sander and the final smoothing done with card scrapers. The finish is mineral oil and Howard’s butcher block conditioner. Below is the dry fit-up picture to give you an idea of how much darker the walnut and the cherry got after treatment with the mineral oil.

I like the interplay of the sapwood on the walnut and the white oak.
