The design of this clock was originally intended as a Maori Tattoo, though I made a few minor alterations and decided to cut it out on the scroll saw.

The Main face is Baltic Birch Ply, and the backing is Red Faced exterior grade ply. The whole face is about 8 1/4 inches square & finished with clear Satin Lacquer.

For a Tattoo….I think it makes a nice clock!

Nice clock. What was the motivation?

My “Motivation” is, I guess, that only a couple of weeks prior to me making this, my Cousin & her Husband were over from New Zealand & I guess that may have in some way got me thinking.

I’ve also been over there twice myself, and love the country. Either way I’m quite pleased with the outcome…...and this one sold within 10 minutes of me posting the photo on Facebook….a friend really liked it!
I’ve also had a few other people ask about it so I’m getting set to make a few more. ;-)

Although I’ve been in total 8 months in Oz I have only made it twice to NZ and one trip was pre-shortend when mount Ruapehu erupted and I was forced to stay in LA for a couple of days. Lovely country. I hope to visit it again. Again, I do like the clock.
