This is the box that I started when I posted the pyramid cutting jig a little while ago .
http://lumberjocks.com/projects/142226
Made this for my buddy Al who has given me all that hard wood flooring over the years and this is one of the thank you gifts I made for him.
The box is made from red oak and jatoba which turned out a very nice colour combination and the dark brown cloth lined interior gave a beautiful accent to the interior .The hinges are solid brass and I added a lid chain support that drops down beside the tray on the right side when closing the lid. This box is a little larger at
13” w x 7 1/4” d x4 1/2” h but looks well proportioned . The finish is oil with bees wax as a finish coats rubbed to a satin lustre .

Hope you enjoy and comments and questions are always welcome .

Klaus

Klaus,

I was wondering “what’s Klaus making? Is he on vacation? Nope! Doin what he does for people he cares about! Its a Klaus Kiefer! You are right, nice combination of woods. Nice symmetry.

Great job. Lots off little details on that one.
Very manly looking box.
I like it a lot.

The pyramids are just too cool. The red oak/Jatoba works really well together.
