I got an old drill press for free :-) from an old car-garage. The reason they gave it to me was that it was no longer functioning. I took it apart, and rewired it and that was all it took to make it function again. It isn´t much to look at, but I will paint it blue (same colour as Kreg lists I used) so it will look almost brand new. I made the table out of birch plywood 19 mm thick and used double layer. The edges is made out of oak which i gave a layer of dark oak oil. The top is laminated and all parts that is not made of wood is from Kreg. On the fence I also added a Kreg runner, (if that´s what it´s called in English) and made a flip stop wich i copied from Savas Papasavvas YouTube channel. Works perfect. All in all I am satisfied with how it turned out and this was a nice weekend project for me.

Thanks for watching :-)

It looks great, Hank.

From what I can tell from the pictures, it appears to be the same drill press that I got from a pawn shop here for $40. Mine is not pretty, but it is functional.

I straightened your picture. I hope you do not mind.

Thank you for straightening things out :-) I haven´t figured out how to do that yet.

Should serve you well. Always nice to have a way to clamp things down while drilling.

Very straight forward design thatt should work just fine. I just need a bigger drill press, my little benchtop unit would lose to much space with a table on it. Although this one shold fit pretty good so I might try something like it.

Have your say...
