I made ten award plaques for a disc golf tournament at Tishomingo State Park, thus the Native American theme. The material is 3/4” solid oak with stain and three coats of poly. After several unsuccessful attempts of engraving with my Rotozip, I succumbed to the ease of laser engraving by a local trophy shop.
The arrowhead shape was cut on my scroll saw and the “edging” was done on a spindle sander. The design was borrowed from a gracious LJ’er, TheKingsTreasures.
I also cut wall hanging slot in the back of each one.
Posing with the award is my daughter Mandy, the 2008 U.S. Professional Disc Golf Association Amatuer Women’s national champion (sorry, proud dad).
