This is something I saw in one of my woodworking magazines. I thought it was a pretty cool concept how it was done so I gave it a try. It’s turned on the inside and the outside. It started as 4 blocks of wood about 1-1/2” X 1-1/2” X 9” They were not glued together. One end went into the jaw chuck and the other end went into a homemade jam chuck that was held in place by the tail stock. Turn the Christmas tree shape first then remove the blocks and rotate them, placing the tree shape to the inside, gluing them together this time. Finally turn the outside shape. There is a hole drilled in the bottom where I installed a small battery powered light that shines upward to create the glow inside. Pretty cool concept.
