This floating table top hallway table is sort of a tribute to all the wonderful woodworkers on lumberjocks and the inspiration they provide. I was sitting around trying to think of a table design for my entry hallway so I started looking through my favorites. I hadn’t been in my favorites for about a year so there were many pages to flip through. Special thanks go out to RS woodworks, dougw, and KWdriver for their wonderful pieces. You will be able to see aspects of all of them throughout my table.

RS Woodworks for the unique way he held his jewelry box up

dougw for the double floating table top idea

and KWDriver for the cool leg design

Thanks again lumberjocks

very nice & I like that you gave credit to others for the “help” along the way..good on you. quite an interesting table, and i have a question. Do you have any worry that the big top will move/distort over time? Lots of hanging in air, there.

Very nice. Love the top and the contrast between the “gravitas” feel of the upper part of the table and the delicate feel of the lower shelf. My design tried to convey an airy, light feel by having negative space everywhere. Thanks for the shout out.

Gorgeous piece! I love the legs and the way you floated both the shelf and the top. Great work!

Wow, wow, wow. A wonderful flow to this piece, so quietly elegant and balanced. What great execution.
