My wife asked for a shelf to fit over the kitchen sink that would fit just below the window sill above it. So this is what I came up with and she was pleased. It gave me an excuse to run some rabbits and play with a finishing recipe I’ve wanted to try. Not to mention extra time in the shop ;-). Red oak and a little red cedar for the cubby hole backings.

Nice! One of the benefits of being a woodworker is you can make it to suit your needs.

Very true…everything is custom. Of course now under cabinet shelving units have been requested ;-)
Thanks Tom

Nice Looking shelf!! Chris as you its warming up nicely now and my wife has a list a mile long for me to do. It’s just having time to get to the list is my problem. Believe me, It’s in my favor because most of involves getting into the shop.

Thanks guys. I hear ya David. She’s got me making 3 space shelf units to help organize the kitchen. And some sort of food storage bin for the dogs. And a red cedar corner planter and 3 tier fountain. And….lol. The motor went down in my big table saw so she recently got me a small bench model for my birthday to get me by till the big boy is fixed & upgraded :-))))! I’m lucky enough to only work 3 days a week although its 24 hr shifts. She’s a night E.R. nurse so i hit the wood shop while she sleeps. Win/win
