*CELTIC ANTICS by B A Z Z A …. Hand Carved Celtic Symbols.
1. London Plane is a Hybrid of Spanish Plane & Sycamore.
2. African Zebrano – Zebra Wood.
3. Italian Wild Olive.
4. African Rosewood.

Really find it rewarding making gifts like these as I find it has a great calming effect on me, as I work in Aviation in London and that’s pretty full on stress noise and hustle and bustle .

I have got quite into making Artisan Symbolism with Celtic Viking Egyptian Pagan & Sikh Ancient images.
Hope you may find these of some interest, Thank you for checking out my project.
Regards Barry.

Did you cut these first with your scrollsaw? Very interesting grain in all of these. They are very pretty, you did a great job.

Nice work Bazz, my wife is a quilter & loves playing with the Celtic theme, your cover shot would be an interesting one to try on the lathe :)
cheers
Pete

Hi Glad you like them ! Yes I do cut the external shape with either a scroll saw or a small band saw.
internals are cut with the scroll, and details carved with chisels.
The Olive and the Zebrano are a dream to chisel out, but the rosewood is really tough. yes to me its all about interesting grain, Thanks Kelly.
