Well I guess if you enjoy that smell then it probably smells wonderful, I will take white oak, red oak or walnut anyday. They probably work about as well for keeping out bugs as cedar does and white oak has a wonderful smell when it is fresh cut.

I’ve worked with red cedar before…notice any sparking as you were cutting? Also cedar produces a real fine dust that is supposedly harmful to your lungs. Thats a nice lookin pile though…would love to get my hands on some of it!
