Built this for a friend’s birthday. Walnut crotch book matched from a tree we fell. The top is Maple with a piece of driftwood that looks like a sea horse. Top is French Polished. Let me know what you think. This is the 5th box that I have made.

Fantastic! The handle is superb. The grain looks backlit. Electric!

Beautiful box, the walnut is outstanding. And the handle sets in a world by itself.

Just gorgeous! How do you like the French polishing?

Wow! That box is spectacular and the wood is out of sight.

French polishing – some days it goes really well – some days I might as well not even tried – when I have it working right, I don’t think you can beat the results. I try to French polish all my projects. It takes probably 5 times as long as a wipe on. To me if you want to make the wood ‘pop’, French polish is the way to go.
