A Different Olive Bowl

Normally Olives are presented in little bowls with a second shallow part for the pits. I was trying to find a better way to present them, without the pits (out of everybody’s mouth) laying next to the Olives on display.
I combined a bowl with the idea of a “wind ashtray” making the pits fall in to a glass jar.
The bowl itself is made out of olive root, the canister that hides the glass jar is made from multiplex. Why it is out of multiplex you can see in the video!

This item was made for the Woodworking Europe Collaboration Build 2015. Me of course representing Portugal.

Saw the video the other day about the challenge. Hope you’re healing, and it got some recognition. Your posts have not been showing on my email.
